PRIMARY CARE
We provide routine screening and management for chronic diseases like hypertension (high blood pressure) and diabetes. Our providers also see patients for sick visits and check-ups, and we can complete forms such as physicals for work, school, or driver’s licenses (no TB testing or vaccines). We help patients find affordable specialists when necessary and can connect them with free
routine obgyn care, mammograms, and colonoscopies. If you’re unsure if we are a good fit for your needs, give us a call!
COUNSELING & SOCIAL SERVICES
SHAMS Clinic works with Council for Relationships & other community partners to provide affordable therapy to our patients. More information about this service can be found at councilforrelationships.org or by contacting the clinic. Our staff also works with the Pennsylvania Health Access Network to help patients connect with benefit enrollment specialists so patients can receive services like Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP, and TANF.
PSYCHIATRIC CARE
Our providers can help manage mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, and treat symptoms with non-controlled substances during our normal clinic hours.
Neurology Clinic
Our partners at Penn Medicine host a free Neurology Clinic for SHAMS Clinic patients once a month. These physicians treat symptoms and diseases such as epilepsy, migraines, numbness and tingling, nerve pain, concussions, and more. Contact the clinic to make your appointment.
MEDICATION POLICY
Shams Clinic only provides prescriptions for current patients. We works on providing patients with medication assistance programs or finding the cheapest drug alternative at a local pharmacy or drugstore. In addition, an on-call pharmacist is always available to answer any questions. We do not prescribe narcotics or any controlled substances.
Medication refills are only given in person by a physician. Patients are responsible to schedule an appointment when a refill is needed.
Labs & Imaging
SHAMS Clinic requires all patients to have their labs drawn at a Quest Diagnostics location convenient to them. The labs will be completed at no cost to the patient, and our front desk can assist patients with lab appointment scheduling. The clinic also utilizes a service called Radiology Assist for patients that need imaging studies such as xrays and ultrasounds. Patients are responsible for the cost of their imaging studies, however, out-of-pocket costs are greatly reduced through Radiology Assist.
What We Do Not Offer
SHAMS Clinic does not currently offer STI Screening, TB Testing (QuantiFERON or PPD), Prenatal Care, Narcotic Pain Management, or Vaccinations. We recommend patients seeking these services utilize their closest Health Center (link to locations). Please contact us if there is a specific service you are interested in receiving.
