On Saturday June 2, 2018, a free Community Health Fair was organized by APPNA & ICNA Relief at Masjid Salahudeen in Plano, TX. This free health fair was very successful, in which 28 people mostly local indigent Kurdish refugees participated and received free blood pressure screening, BMI, blood glucose, lipid panel and HgbA1c (3 months sugar) in-house testing as well as dietary counseling.
Free physician consultation was provided by APPNA and ICNA Relief volunteer physicians including APPNA North TX president, Dr. Mohammad Amir, Dr. Dawood Nasir (APPNA Summer Meeting Chair), Dr. Mehmooda Nasir and Dr. Mohammad Iqbal.
Since most of the health fair participants had no medical insurance and required further medical follow up, they were referred to ICNA Relief’s Free Medical Clinic in Dallas, TX, Masjid Salahudeen Director Br.
