AL QURAN

O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), who has created you As well as those before you; Do so that you are saved. It is He Who has made the earth A resting-place for you, And the sky a canopy, And sent down water from above With which He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. Do not, then, set up rivals to Allah When you know (the truth). (The Qura'n 2:21-22)

AL_HADITH

Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."

Topic: Rape

I am 25-years-old, married to a 24-year-old woman. My wife and I both are Muslims. We live in India. A couple of months ago, my wife was gang-raped by several non-Muslim (Hindu) men. I do not wish to narrate this unpleasant incident. Now she is pregnant with the child of one of her rapists and there is no doubt as to this fact. Even in spite of this, we have decided to keep the child as we feel that it is innocent, and she does not want to take the life of her own child. Under Islamic law, whom does this child belong to? Will he be a Hindu or a Muslim? Since those men impurified my wife by raping her, how can she get back to her pure state? Is there some sort of special ghusl (bathe) she should perform? Has she committed adultery? Why does this happen to Muslim women? Isn't Allah supposed to protect their honor? Please help me.

Dear brother
I am so sorry to hear this sad story. May Allah give you and your family patience to over come this difficult test.

The child would belong to his mother. Your wife did not commit adultery. There is no special ghusl to be taken, but a normal ghusul. It is a try from Allah. Allah has vowed to test us in different ways and tribulations.
