AL QURAN

O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), who has created you As well as those before you; Do so that you are saved. It is He Who has made the earth A resting-place for you, And the sky a canopy, And sent down water from above With which He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. AL_HADITH

Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."

I would like to ask whether taking part in Dramatic theatre or Films is against the virtues of Islam? I am a student of 'A' levels and want to know this so that I may decide which sort of career I may take up. I am very interested in plays and Art of every Kind! Could you also let me know to what extent is it a sin in Islam to have sex with a woman before marriage or with a prostitute? Will touching and kissing also be included in the same category of that matter?

Dear brother Drama or art in general is like TV or technology. It can be used for multiple purposes; good and bad. If you want to learn this science and Islamize it by consulting or taking instructions from Muslim scholars I think nothing wrong with that. In fact we Muslims need some people in that field, it can be used for Da'wa purposes. Having sex outside of the marriage is a major sin. Touching and kissing is a sin that often leads to sex.
