AL QURAN

O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), who has created you As well as those before you; Do so that you are saved. It is He Who has made the earth A resting-place for you, And the sky a canopy, And sent down water from above With which He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. Do not, then, set up rivals to Allah When you know (the truth). (The Qura'n 2:21-22)

AL_HADITH

Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."

Topic: Abortion in Islam

Question: If a fetus is found to have some defects (at about 4.5 months of pregnancy) one which includes Problem with fetus heart, lungs, brain and the doctors suggest an abortion since most of such pregnancies end up in miscarriages at a later and riskier stage of pregnancies. What is a muslim couple to do? The couple have to make a decision the soonest possible. What do the laws of islam say? Please quote respective Quranic, Hadith and sunnnah refernces.

Dear brother Assalamu Alaykum I have no absolute answer for you from the Qur'an. The reason being that, at the time of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions there was no technology to determine whether or not the child would be born with any defects. However, Islamic law is rich enough to provide you with an answer. Muslim scholars have two opinions in regard to your question. (1) One opinion holds that abortion is not allowed in this situation. Abortion is allowed only if the life of the mother is in danger. (2) The second opinion believes the opposite, because Allah does not put burden on people. Also, the child is going to suffer throughout his/her life. Brother, it's up to you to choose any one of the above stated opinions that you feel more comfortable with.

What  does Qur’an say about abortion?

Assalmu Alaykum

Qur'an did not say anything about abortion in a specific language, but killing of an innocent soul is forbidden in absolute terms in the Quran. The Issue of abortion is discussed in fiqh.  It is haram  except when  the life of the mother is in danger.

1. She is my sister and the only child of her mom, who is my father's wife (my aunt). Her husband doesn't like her mom and she loves her mom too much. My father is too old and that was the reason that his new wife didn't have too many kids. She is too patient and she is not from the same country of us but she took care of her daughter and now her son in low doesn't like her wife to talk to her mom. So I want to know who is the one that my sister should take care more about her husband or her poor mom. Is this a reason that allows my sister to ask for divorce from her husband?

2. My same sister was pregnant. She and her husband were planning to get divorce. He asked her to have an abortion and she did it cause he was asking her to do it. I want to know, who is to be blamed? How can they solve this mistake? Her husband want her to bring baby now and she didn't want cause she is so scared if the same thing will happen for the next time so what should she do? My sister now is in the US with her husband for one year and she want to know if she can ask her husband to stay with her family during their break, cause the vacation is only 20 days, she has her mom and her so old dad. She wants to take care of them in this period. Can she ask him for that or not? And in the same while she take care of him a lot in this year in the US and he says that so is it ok for her to spend the vacation with her family?

Jazakom Allah kheer atmnaa alrad fe asraa forsah?

Dear sister
Advise for your sister: Remind your husband with the rights of the parent in Islam. Take care of your old mother. Don't ask your husband for divorce.

Both your sister and her husband are in sin for the abortion. If she become pregnant for the second time Do NOT ABORT the child. It is HARAM.

Topic: Abortion

A. What about abortion before it's fetus?

 Assalamu Alaykum

Generally speaking, abortion is not allowed whether before or after the fetus,  except the life  of the mother is at risk.

B. My same sister was pregnant. She and her husband were planning to get divorce. He asked her to have an abortion and she did it cause he was asking her to do it. I want to know, who is to be blamed?  they solve this mistake?

Killing innocent person is Haram in Islam. Abortion is not but killing innocent child. Thus, both of your sister and her husband have committed a major sin. They should ask Allah’s forgiveness.  If she becomes pregnant for the second time, she SHOULD NOT ABORT the child.  It is HARAM.  However, abortion is allowed only if the life of the mother is in danger
